If you’re getting the “Your hard drive may not be partitioned” message in Boot Camp, follow these steps.
How do I Partition my hard drive in Boot Camp?

Reboot your Mac in single user mode by holding Command + S while booting up.At the command prompt, enter the following:When fsck is done, type “exit” and/or possibly “reboot” to reboot.Boot your Mac as usual, rescan the found drivein Disk Utility and partition it as usual.
I’ve seen “Your CD cannot be partitioned” several times on older Macs that are a year old. I have not seen it on new or recently unboxed computers Mac. This leads me to believe that the particular message was caused by a series of errors in the database system. This seems severe enough to help prevent partitioning, but not severe enough to interfere with normal operation.
Whatever the reason, the solution is pretty simple. This healing has two stages. The first stage indicates errors in many situations. It just won’t fix the problem for you, make sure it’s the second one. It’s best to back up your Mac just in case something happens. Then:
- Start the service disk from utilities.
- Select your personal drive on the left and purchase a drive check.
- Allow the disk to check for errors and select “Repair disk” when the utility finds errors.

If the check finds no errors or fixes something but still sees the message “Your hard drive cannot be partitioned”, try one of the following fixes.
- Turn off your Mac.
- Turn the power back on and hold Command + S to enter onecustom mode.
- Open a command line “/sbin/fsck-fy” and optionally press Enter. Let the process complete.
- Type “reboot” and press Enter.
- Run Disk Utility again and perform the specified operation.
- Retry Boot Camp.Second
This step is also error assessment, but at a deeper level. No doubt, if this first solution doesn’t work, it should work.
Boot Windows With Boot Camp 2
If you want to dual-boot Mac X for Windows, you can use the built-in Boot Camp to prepare the disk for installation. You’ll also need a legal copy of Connected Windows to install, but convenience is everything in OS X. Learn how to set up Windows on your Mac.
- Go to Utilities, select Boot Camp Assistant.
- Only in the wizard, select Continue, and then when prompted, “Download custom Windows support software for this Mac.” Continue.
- Select and enter your final Apple ID when prompted.
- Select an input and download the setup and whatever you need.
- On request AIn Boot Camp Assistant, resize the slider to fit the new Windows partition. Windows may require at least 20 GB for good results.
- Select a section to search for items.
- Install the Windows installation media after Boot Assistant Camp has finished creating the partition.
- Choose “Start Install” and your Mac will do it. It may take several restarts to determine the process.
- Select Custom Install when prompted and select the BOOTCAMP key.
- Select a drive option, and then reformat it to prepare the partition for Windows.
- Follow the main Windows setup wizard when prompted to select an item. Choose the processes that best suit your needs.
- When done, remove the Windows installation media.
Be very careful in step 9 to determine the correct partition to create Windows. Be sure to select the most important partition you created earlier or you could overwrite your Mac OS X installation. When I did this, Boot Assistant Camp named it BOOTCAMP. Your mayThere is no difference, so choose your recovery partition carefully.
When you boot Windows, you update your drivers and yourself as you would on a normal Windows computer. Now all you have to do is hold down the “Important” button while booting up to access my bootloader and choose which OS to boot into!
